Legless reptile (not David Cameron) in compost bin. Much better view of its head when I first saw it (small dark tongue) but it had started to dig in by the time I got my camera. Seems to be a slow-worm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slowworm). Not seen one before. Tried to lift it out with a stick but didn't want to injure it and it disappeared into the compost so left it.
