#MDC New Orleans Bound: Donnalyn Anthony a photographer for The Reporter last year has been selected to participate in the New York Times Student Journalism Institute in New Orleans May 18– June 1st. The 14-day fellowship allows student journalists to work with staffers from New York Times and Boston Globe to create a newspaper. Some of the work is published in The Times.
Anthony has received various honors for her work. In 2012, she won first place for "Best News Photo" from the Florida College System Activities Association and honorable mention honors from the Associated Collegiate Press in the Feature Picture category.
“She demonstrated the potential to go beyond taking a photo,” said Sandra Stevenson, Photo Editor for The New York Times International Section, who will be overseeing Anthony’s work at the Institute.
