This beautiful cream evening dress belonged to Queen Juliana (1909-2004) and is now on display at Palace Het Loo. Queen Juliana wore the evening dress shortly after her inauguration on 6 September 1948, at a gala evening in the Koninklijke Schouwburg royal theatre in honour of her ‘joyous entry’ in The Hague and later during her first official visit abroad to France in 1950.
