ASE Registration Board making good progress considering CSciTeach, RSci and RSciTech standards #ASEchat
I don't think I saw the best of Brussels between Gare du Nord and Best Western on Sat night or on a rainy Sunday.
Late afternoon it was Ardler Planetarium. Good exhibits, lots of artefacts donated by Jim Lovell. Home tomorrow.
Into Chicago Art Inst on el. Took four hours to see the main sights! Took lots of photos at "The Bean" next to it.
I spent time exploring the architecture today, the famous buildings along Michigan Ave and in the loop.
Trump and Sears from John Hancock Centre - well I couldn't not do them both :-) They call this "outside".
103 floors straight down. I know the physics is ok but the psychology was telling me it was wrong!
John Hancock Center, Trump Tower with Lake Michigan in background from floor 103 in Sears Tower.
Riding the el into downtown Chicago. Front seat. Driver apologised for dirty windows.
There are lots of well restored, John Deeres and Internationals all over IL, IN and WI, occasional other makes.
The business end of the 40".
Unsurprisingly they did not let us anywhere near the 40" lens.
Visited Yerkes Observatory, today, home of largest ever refracting telescope from 1895.
Good collection at Milwaukee Art Mus, especially modern: O'Keefe, Leger ... Nice walk along lake front, cold wind.
Not everything in HD Mus was a hog. Walter Villa, 250 world champ, 1974-6. But it was built in Italy :-)
Markesan H S science room. Not so different from many new build labs in Scotland. Much less science taught tho.
A good supper and hospitality from John and his family.
The relatively light soil has attracted lots of Amish to the area. Saw lots of buggies on the roads.
Carp fishing Wisconsin style. They were trying to fill a tank in a semi truck with live fish for New York.
Haqd a good time visiting John Werth at his home in Wisconsin yesterday. It is former dairy farm country.
