URGENT! Bo, 11-month-old Shepherd, needs rescue ASAP.

He was surrendered to Southern Ocean County Animal Facility because the owners' grandchildren are allergic.

He failed test for being too mouthy, but according to test, he never applied any pressure. He jumps up onto people and can be barky at dogs and people sometimes.

He failed his temperament test for food: When the plastic hand was in his dish he growled and grabbed hand with mouth.

The county will not allow him to go up for adoption so he must find a rescue or face euthansia.

We have a lot of volunteers interacting with him and he has been wonderful with all of us. He likes dogs and walks with many dogs in our daily pack walks.

We can put him together with a dog into the outdoor run for hours with no fighting or problems. He was paired up with a male Black lab who would mount him non stop and he was very tolerant and never got angry with this lab. That Lab was since adopted and now he is paired up with a nice, calm setter and the two of them lay nice together and just hang out. He sometimes will argue with dogs through a fence, but does not fight with them when there is no barrier.

He is affectionate and sweet. He acts very much like a shepherd and can be nervous and mouthy, but is still quite young.

He needs a rescue to take him or someone to adopt him through Rescue Ridge. This is a courtesy post, so please do not contact Rescue Ridge, but instead, please contact Lisa Flynn at lbflynn1.com if you'd like to meet Bo.

URGENT - Lucille is an 8-year-old, spayed female pit bull terrier. She is a mild tempered dog. She is a bit wary around new people at first but warms up fast. She is a loving, happy dog and always wants to play. Unfortunately, her owner is moving and cannot take her with them. They have until June 4, 2011 to find her a good home.

Lucille is house trained. She lives with two cats now and is fine with them. She has been around one other dog and was fine. She has never been around any children so it is unknown how she would be with them.

If you're looking for a sweet, good-natured dog, you've found her in Lucille. She'll bring a lot of love into your life if you take her into your home.

This is a courtesy post, so please do not contact Rescue Ridge, but instead contact Rich at walktallracing.com or 1-441-300-9306.

Hi everyone! My name is Dora. I am just 4 years old, weigh a solid 65 lbs of play and affection, and I very much need your help right away!

My owner, I call him my Dad, is in the United States Air Force and he was deployed. I am temporarily staying with my aunt, his sister, and she has to move into a smaller place and cannot take me. She works long hours and I am home alone. My "grandparents" have cats and I am not fond of cats. They would gladly keep me, if only I got along with cats! Urggg. How I wish I could! I am fully housebroken and do not even need to be crated. I am playful and LOVE people, including the little children. I am even gentle with toddlers but my family wants to play it safe and suggests that I be adopted by adults, or by a family with children age 5 or older. I would not hurt the small children but I might knock them down if I run and play in the yard. I am very athletic, love to run, love to walk and am in excellent health. I need to be an only dog because some dogs I like and some I do not. I walk nicely on a leash and will not mind seeing dogs while we take our walk. I am spayed, fully vaccinated, and have a gorgeous, shiny mink colored coat. My family has taken good care of me but I have to find another home. So sad. My daddy is out of the country and so there is nowhere else for me to go! How about to your home? I love to snuggle, will greet you with kisses, and know my basic commands. How about a nice car ride, too? Please apply to adopt me as a courtesy listing on the Rescue Ridge website at: rescueridgeshelter.com or find them on petfinder.com under Rescue Ridge, Spring Lake, New Jersey. Or, please find out all you need to know by calling Amanda, my "aunt" at: 732-859-5805 or email her at: alc3408.com. I need your help right away, please! My time is running out since they have to bring me to a shelter if I am not adopted. Many thanks!

Lawrence Township's Police Canine Dyno is part of New Jersey's Task Force. As a part of homeland security, the canines and handlers involved in the Task force are deployed during state emergencies and bomb threats. Dyno also works as a patrol canine within Lawrence Township and is a valuable asset to officers on the street and serves to help protect other officers who can be placed in harms way. These situations also place the dog within harms way. Due to recent budget cuts, there is no funding to supply Dyno with a canine ballistic bullet proof vest. A vest that could make a difference between life and death for Dyno.

Rescue Ridge is raising the money to buy a vest for Dyno. The vest will cost $1,200 and we have already raised $550. Donations can be made to Rescue Ridge. Checks should be made out to Rescue Ridge and mailed to Maureen Bedard, 29 Locust Avenue, Eatontown, NJ 07724. Once we raise the $1,200, we will order the vest for Dyno. Dyno recently completed training school and we would like to present Dyno and his handler Ron with the vest as soon as possible.

The canines serve to protect our patrol officers as well as the citizens of New Jersey. Dyno helps protect us - let's help protect him!

Please cross post, network, facebook and tweeter for Dyno.

Sake is a 8-10 month old Cocker Spaniel pup who weighs 22lbs. He's very social and outgoing but he has some pretty severe resource guarding. He is up to date on his core vaccines and has received appropriate dewormer. Transportation can be arranged!

Sake was found tied up to a fence dangerously close to a pool. Fortunately a good Samaritan took pity on this handsome fellow and picked him up before anything bad happened. Initially Sake was completely terrified by the kennel environment and all the loud barking neighbors. Consequently he was a little defensive & stoic at first. Once he got some time outside of his kennel though and realized he could make plenty of friends, he warmed up to everyone very fast. Sake is very young and quite sociable -- he seems to love everyone and is also very dog friendly! Due to the severity of his resource guarding (food and toys), he is only releasable to a rescue group who has the means to work on his behavior prior to placement. Sake has been here for about a month now with little to no interest. Please spread the word and help us bust this young pup out of the shelter!
