Friendly staff @ Elly’s offset the sterile atmo & typical menu. Crêpes needed more xxx sugar but got the job done.
Chicken malai tikka @cuminchicago is way juicy. Chunks of sizzling boneless breast. Juicy. What a nice surprise.
Mussels @ElateRest are some of the best around, but beware small plate syndrome. Spent much more than I expected.
Steppenwolf tix? Caesar salad & grilled salmon @LandmarkGrill will get you thru Virginia Woolf.

The poblano pepper soup @ M.Henrietta was a yummy tummy warmer, but the rest was mundane. MH: Stick to a.m. food.
Michelin got lucky @ L2O. Gras is gone but Francis Brennan's a rock star. Yes, there's peekytoe crab in this dish.
All the usual sushi suspects show up @ Nabuki but after the spicy tuna salad, I was mostly bored.
I give the papaya salad & lamb luc lac @saigonsisters a thumbs up. Thumbs down to the prices.
Pulled pork, dry; brisket, dry; bbq chicken @RealUrbanBBQ juicy. But needs to be better than 1 out of 3.
$12 got us a preview of sweet lobster roll, smoky clam chowder, & a cookie from GT Fish @wherezthewagon.
The duck, tender but too fatty, w/squash that was too cold but peppery-good @DineAtAquitaine. Kitchen needs focus.
