Where is this scene of airport reading? First person to get it in one try wins a copy of Checking In/Checking Out.
.@IADaveMark Game back on. Can you locate this scene of airport reading? (Anyone can play!)
"Five Trucks" by Brian Floca includes several instances of what I call "bird citing" in my book about airports...
I had heard about this from @hbaskas, but @jryanwilliams's photo is a classic. Airport yoga; or, just stay home.
@IADaveMark Game on: Can you place this scene of airport reading? (Thanks, @jryanwilliams)
My brother sent me this picture of airport reading in Denver yesterday. Note the improvised ottoman.
Saw this American Airlines tag art on a USPS drop box yesterday. It takes the AA logo & renames it Aerial Attack.
I mean seriously, there's outrage about "gate rape"—& then the device itself happens to be called the "Rapiscan"?
Some small airport, somewhere north of DC...
Our hades, IAD.
My plane, a Q400, PVD - IAD...about to board. I love watching the landing gear retract after takeoff.
SPILL CART. And other airport equipment...
Waiting in Providence...
On ascent out of IAD: nested systems within systems within systems.
I saw my first A380 yesterday at IAD. (Taxiing behind the Dash 8 & CRJ.) I saw it take off sluggishly skyward.
In case of an emergency: I mean, really, they almost make it look fun.
I brought my lucky bookmark along. ("crossing their arms funereally with their seat cushions on their chests"—DFW)
Observation at the gate: people arriving home walk in a different way in the airport than people visiting a place.
Ready for conference: @patagonia MLC, check. DFW's unfinished novel "The Pale King," check. Off to airport...
