Pro football arrived in San Marcos when the Houston Oilers began summer training camp on July 18, 1988. They stayed in the recently-opened Blanco Hall, dined in Harris, and played on the recently-improved practice fields. Players who attended the Oilers training camp included Mike Rozier (1983 Heisman Trophy winner) and Warren Moon (long-time Oilers quarterback).

Faculty voted to name a new women’s dormitory after Elizabeth Falls in honor of her 3 decades of service to Texas State. In 1966, #txst constructed and named a dormitory for Elizabeth Falls.

Elizabeth Falls was a leader in the field of education; she was hired in 1914 to oversee the #txst teacher training school. Miss Falls soon became a member of the regular faculty and taught in Education for 24 years before retiring in 1938. Photo from the 1928 Pedagog.
