Lucky winners Pamela Salud and Nikka Landau were whisked off to Tel Aviv for a five-night stay courtesy of US Airways at its third annual “Suitcase Soirée” benefit in Philadelphia. Traveling in Envoy, US Airways’ international business class, both women could literally take comfort in knowing they were helping raise money for the US Airways Education Foundation, which has awarded more than $3.8 million in college scholarships to dependents of US Airways employees and education grants to non-profit organizations. Later today an additional 102 students will be notified of their $2,500 scholarship.

US Airways recently honored 25 employees as recipients of the 2011 Annual Chairman’s Award, our most prestigious award. Winners include employees who went the extra mile for a fellow employee; employees who showed extraordinary compassion for our customers when they needed it most; those who have saved the Company money while others picked up a flight or came in on their day off so our customers would still arrive at their destinations. Nearly 170 employees were selected from 540 nominations to receive a quarterly award; the top 25, pictured here with recipients of a special “teamwork” award, are selected to receive the annual award and enjoy a celebratory dinner with members of our senior leadership team.
