There is a place where the sidewalk ends
and before the street begins,
and there the grass grows soft and white,
and there the sun burns crimson bright,
and there the moon-bird rests from his flight
to cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
and the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
we shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow
and watch where the chalk-white arrows go
to the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
and we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
for the children, they mark, and the children, they know,
the place where the sidewalk ends.

Any of you who have worked with me before on a new piece know that I am obsessively writing and rewriting until the last possible minute. (And oftentimes after the premiere). I have decided once again to change the title of our piece, this time to "Fly to Paradise." That is now the official title, because we are just finishing the film and after today it will be impossible to change.
I'll write more about the my reasons for the change in a separate post, but for now just know that it's connected to something exciting. I really, really want to get it right before we launch it into the world. Woo hoo!

Just added three new pledge categories to our Kickstarter campaign, including a handwritten, personalized manuscript page of your choice of any one of my pieces. It will look something like this original manuscript page of 'A Boy and a Girl' but will also have a signed and dedicated THANK YOU from yours truly. Please consider supporting the Virtual Choir!

A page from "Higher, Faster, Stronger", the piece we will premiere at my Proms concert August 29th. Piano, percussion, and triple chorus - this is maybe the most difficult piece I've ever written. (Tempo on this page is quarter=140).

The amazing @ImogenHeap just sent me this photo of the mini recording studio she's set up to write "The Listening Chair." She'll begin sending me tracks next week, and I'll (quickly) arrange it for our Proms concert August 29th. Woo hoo!
