A bear created by cartoonist Phil Frank, found in the Sierras by The Big Guy & given to his Lady. I now travel with them when they go on adventures.
Here's about 1/2 of the candy spread out. Big Guy was the assayer. In charge of exchanging Scouts gold for candy.
@OllyTed remember when you posted pics of gran's hamper. This is 1/2 Big Guy's candy stash for the Klondike Derby.
As you can see they are a small brewery. It all fits in this one room. But they get good results. Worth visiting.
They are even aging some beers in wood barrels. Hope I get to taste some later. It adds extra flavor.
I hope this works. This one is of the air locks on one of the fermentors. It was realy cooking.
These are their fermentors. Full of good beer fermenting & aging.
This is their brew kettle. Sorry it's a bit blurry, got to work on your technique Big Guy.
Then we took a tour of the brewery. This is where they store & mill their malt.
We shared a sampler set to taste their brews & had some pretzels as well. Umm it doesn't go there folks.
Later we visited Eagle Rock Brewing. Usually I have to look way high for a logo, but this one was bear height.
But then we settled into a nice Full English breakfast. Lots of yummies, even baked beans???
Continuing our trip to S. Cal. on Sun. we had breakies at another LB location & this beer was called Pink Killer
It was chocolaty orange goodness to the last bite & I made sure I got the last piece.
Finally we had a Jaffa Chocolate Torte from their special Belgian Food Menu.
@pinkbunnyr Grey Rabbit & I clowned around a bit. Making like we had over imbibed. But we didn't. It was just fun.
Even more fun was when Pink Bunny, Grey Rabbit & their humans dropped by to share some of the good times.
And it's always good to have eats while tasting. Should I have some of Big Guy's squid or M'Lady's cheese sticks?
Then comes the enjoyment, look at that head, & smell the aroma. The taste is good too. This is going to be fun.
Then I researched some of the beers in M'Ladys book. It lists 100's of Belgian beers. In 3 languages.
This weekend we went to Lucky Baldwin's Belgian Festival in Pasadena. 1st I checked the menu. Lots of good brews.
