Boeing and Qatar Airways today announced orders for three 777 Freighters and two 777-300ERs. The orders are valued at $1.4 billion at list prices.

The 777 Freighter order was previously accounted for on Boeing’s Orders and Deliveries website as unidentified in 2010. The 777-300ER order was previously accounted for on the Orders and Deliveries website in 2011.

The first Next-Generation 737-800 for Algeria's Tassili Airlines. The carrier's primary mission is to transport employees of Sonatrach, the state owned Algerian oil company, to and from its oilfields and bases. The first of an order of four airplanes signed in 2009, this will be Tassili Airlines' first Boeing aircraft.

The Next-Generation 737, a short-to-medium-range airplane, is based on a key Boeing philosophy of delivering added value to airlines with reliability, simplicity and reduced operating and maintenance costs.

Air Algerie's 50th Boeing jetliner, a Next-Generation 737-800, takes flight. This delivery marks the 40-year partnership between Boeing and the North African carrier.

Since receiving its first Boeing airplane in March 1971, Air Algerie has expanded to include 18 737s and three 767s.

"Boeing airplanes have delivered exceptional value in our growth plan," said Abdelwahid Bouabdellah, president director general and CEO of Air Algerie. "In addition to the long relationship we enjoy, selecting Boeing airplanes was a sound economic decision since it meant fleet standardization and ability to use experienced pilots and engineers already familiar with the airplanes."

Qatar Airways' fleet includes two long- range 777 freighters, 15 highly efficient 777-300ERs and eight of the ultra-long-range 777-200LR (longer range) airplanes.

A Boeing 777-300ER in the livery of GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS). The largest aircraft lessor in the world has finalized an order for 10 more of the twin-engine airplanes so it can satisfy growing airline demand.

The 777-300ER is 19 percent lighter than its closest competitor, greatly reducing its fuel requirement. It produces 22 percent less carbon dioxide per seat and costs 20 percent less to operate per seat.

The 747-8 Intercontinental is stretched 5.6 m (18.3 ft) from the 747-400 to provide 467 seats in a three-class configuration. Using new engines, the airplane will be quieter, produce lower emissions, and achieve better fuel economy than any competing jetliner.

Boeing celebrated the placement of the last steel beam on its new interiors fabrication building in South Carolina.

The 300,000 square feet (27,871 square meters) state-of-the art facility, located in the Palmetto Commerce Park in North Charleston will manufacture 787 interior parts at the new facility, including stowbins, closets, partitions, class dividers, floor-mounted stowbins used by flight attendants, overhead flight crew rests, overhead flight attendant crew rests, video-control stations and attendant modules.

The new Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental soars above snow-capped mountains in Washington state during its first flight.

The 747-8 Intercontinental will have the lowest seat-mile cost of any large commercial jetliner, with 12% lower costs than its predecessor, the 747-400. The airplane provides 16% better fuel economy, 16% less carbon emissions per passenger and generates a 30% smaller noise footprint than the 747-400.

It took off from Paine Field in Everett, Wash., before more than several thousand employees, customers, suppliers and community leaders. The airplane landed four hours and 25 minutes later. The 747-8 Intercontinental's first flight marks the beginning of a flight test program that will finish in the fourth quarter.
