The rescuer working very carefully and slowly to free the heron from the net.
The heron had a badly broken wing, and was unable to fly.
After a little herding of the heron with the kayak, we were able to get a net on it and get it to shore.

This friendly, little guy ran into a basement in Mattapan and did not want to leave. He is now in our shelter.
We were able to get past the feisty swan and rescue the one we were looking for. It is the adult to the back left.

These 2 older kittens were found in a box in Dorchester, they are now relaxing at our shelter.
Picked up another abandoned calico cat. This one was from Dorchester, yesterdays was from Roxbury.
This raccoon was stuck in a tree all day. We were able to rescue him. Unfortunately it died a short time later
Had a call for an injured great blue heron in Southborough, found this snapping turtle sunning itself instead.
A litter of older kittens picked up yesterday from Lynn. They are relaxing in the "bunk beds" at the shelter.
Rescued this abandoned, cute little girl in Roxbury. She is stll a little nervous and adjusting to the kennels.
The young Chelsea kittens feeling a little under the weather are going to a foster home for some TLC.
Close up of the hook and lure in the neck of the young swan. The hook was removed and the cygnet is recovering.
While we were in Plymouth we also rescued a cygnet from the pond. It had a fish hook stuck in its neck.
The swan has a badly injured leg. It had been washed out to sea and was unable to return to its pond by itself.
