saying we are 'happy to apologise' is pretty much the standard terminology in print and media. No matter how crap the sun is, the collected stupidity of these comments has somehow made them look like the smart guys. #commentators fail?
jaimelondonboy on November 13, 2009
Is this fake or real? As the only place I can see this is on the Anorak site which is a satire site. http://bit.ly/3X5jWR

"Happy to apologise" isn't the same as "We apologise". Means: we'll do it if you insist but we don't really want to. #sunfail once again.
jrg1990 on November 13, 2009
This is literally the best thing I have seen this week. I love the hypocrisy of the tabloid press....#sunfail

bipolarbearblog on November 13, 2009
I am beyond words... think we should start a campaign on how disgusting The Sun is ;)
Philip_Porter on November 13, 2009
Fair enough. Simple error anyone can make. Only a fool would make a big deal over this.
strachang on November 13, 2009
It's the playing it down that gets me... words fail me.
jjjen on November 13, 2009
Even worse. On Radio 4's PM programme on Wednesday night Tom Newton Dunn, The Sun's political editor, apologised on air for the above. Then he continued to call Jacqui Janes "Mrs Janes". And this was one of the things she criticised GB for, because she is
DaveMurphy77 on November 13, 2009
That's just too perfect to be real.
johnningalong on November 13, 2009
And yet, when GB did it, it was "Bloody Shameful", and "despite The Sun's campaign to remind him there is a bloody war on." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/campaigns/our_boys/2720233/Bloody-shameful-Gordon-Brown.html
davidwaldock on November 13, 2009
Isn't this what The Sun accused Gordon Brown of doing?
Eckie on November 13, 2009
