The 310XT works fine on his his left wrist with this CinQo. Yes, the new electronics pod with the stronger antenna will be able to be retro-fitted to the older CinQos.

That 310xt is never gonna pick up from your wrist ;-) Assuming you're testing the new antenna (?) will this be 'retro-fittable' to the older units?
