Brownstone is a type of sandstone that quarries easily but is susceptible to wear from wind, snow, rain, & freeze/thaw cycling. Notice de-lamination that has occurred over the years.

Corner shows decorative stone accents called quoins. These have ornate grill-work motif with signs of weather degradation in some pieces.
