the thieves just dropped by, very shaky & apologetic, & reunited me w/ my ukulele. they also brought me a book. i hugged them.

The Red Tree is lovely, but everyone - EVERYONE - should read The Arrival by Shaun Tan, it is spectacular. Yay for copious Aussie talent!

I have to say that that is the most gracious response to thievery of one's treasured posessions I've ever heard of.

@DollyDaydream79, im sure you're not the only person who thinks that book is worthy of AFP's eyes. it's also possible that she mixed up the books in this photo. please don't be so hard on her. amanda, you look beautiful.

If more people were as kind as you, the world would be a better and more honest place.

Yay for honesty! The Red Tree is one of my favourite books. I adore Shaun Tan. I gave Neil his "The Lost Thing" a few years ago. He might still have it. I think you'd like it.

Kudos to the both of you. I wish more people were like that. We all make mistakes, but owning up to them is hard, and be gracious about it when you are on the receiving end is equally as difficult. Huzzah.
