Melissa Rivers to Sue: Melissa Rivers recently spoke for the first time since the tragic loss, plans to sue Yorkville Endoscopy for their role in her mother's death, a Sep. 17 report from Design & Trend revealed. According to Radar Online, a source told the site that, "Melissa will await the outcome of the official medical investigation and then absolutely file the lawsuits." It was recently reported that Dr. Lawrence Cohen, the medical director of Yorkville Endoscopy, was fired after allowing Rivers’ personal ear, nose and throat specialist into the clinic even though the E.N.T. wasn’t authorized to practice medicine there. Investigators believe that Rivers' vocal chords began to swell during the allegedly unauthorized biopsy, cutting off the flow of oxygen to her lungs, which led to cardiac arrest on the morning of August 29, WPTV wrote. It was also revealed that the biopsy was done under unsatisfactory conditions, and a certain level of control and anesthesia was required.
