A plume of tropical moisture will work into Colorado from the desert southwest over the next few days, bringing periods of cloudiness and a chance for showers and thunderstorms to much of the state. The best chances for precipitation will be over the mountains, especially along and west of the Continental Divide, where recent burn scars will need to be closely monitored for flash flooding. On Tuesday, an area of low pressure will push through eastern Colorado, dragging a cold front through the region during the afternoon and early evening hours. This will help to enhance the chances for precipitation over the eastern plains behind the cold front Tuesday and Tuesday night. Area temperatures will briefly return to above average across the region today, as highs warm into the 80s to low 90s across the eastern plains and 60s to near 80 over the high country.
