A west to southwest wind flow aloft will continue to spread across the region, as an upper level ridge of high pressure builds over southwest Texas. This will help monsoon moisture to continue spreading into the state from the south and as a series of weak upper level disturbance moving through this flow pass over Colorado, isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop over the mountain areas today. The chances for precipitation will gradually spread across the remainder of the state Monday into Tuesday night, as an additional surge in tropical moisture works into Colorado from the southwest and an area of low pressure pushes into the state from the northwest, dragging a cold front through the region Tuesday afternoon. Area temperatures will continue a gradual warming trend into Monday, with highs returning to near or slightly above average. Cooler weather will then return behind the cold front through mid week. Highs today will top out ! in the 80s across the eastern plains and 60s and 70s across the high country. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
