A limited supply of monsoon moisture will continue to spread across eastern Colorado through the upcoming weekend, while a series of weak upper level disturbances push over the state. The strongest disturbance was currently moving over Colorado, and was expected to exit the state this afternoon. This will bring a chance for rain to much of the region today, with thunderstorms developing this afternoon. The best chances for precipitation today will be over the far southeast plains. The chances for precipitation will gradually diminish through the afternoon hours as the disturbances moves out of the state. Drier weather should then spread over the eastern plains as we move into the weekend, with mainly just periods of cloudiness expected. Across the high country, isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will still be possible, as the next in a series of weak upper level disturbances pushes across the region. Area temperatures will be noticeably cooler across ! the state today, with a warming trend then expected into the weekend. Highs today will only warm into the 50s and 60s across most locations, with some areas across the San Luis Valley reaching the low 70s. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
