Temperatures today will be well above average across the viewing area...with record or near record high temperatures anticipated as the mercury climbs to the 60s and 70s in the higher mountains...the 70s and 80s over the southern valleys...and through the 90s to around 100 degrees on the eastern plains. A little inflow of moisture could creep into the extreme southeast corner of the state for isolated late day thunderstorms. A cold front will move through the southeast plains early Thursday...cooling temperatures through the remainder of the week. Tropical moisture will increase over the southwestern states and Rockies...bringing somewhat more unsettled weather for the end of the week.
