Thunderstorms are expected over and near the mountains Tuesday through Wednesday as an upper level storm system moves across the state. Look for widespread thunderstorms and rain showers through the region Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday with the threat of heavy rain over the eastern mountains and along the Palmer Divide. A severe storm or two is possible as well. Maximum temperatures on Tuesday will cool several degrees as clouds increase by afternoon through most locations. The potential for flooding and flash floods will be greatly enhanced with this system so extra care should be used if participating in outdoor activities.
