A frontal boundary moving over the Eastern Plains on Monday will drift south toward the New Mexico border by Tuesday morning as showers and thunderstorms along and north of the Palmer Divide push the front south on Monday evening. The frontal boundary will retreat slightly to the north during the day on Tuesday over the eastern plains, ending up near of just north of the Arkansas River by evening. Look for widespread thunderstorms and rain showers through the region Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday with the threat of heavy rain over the eastern mountains and along the Palmer Divide. A severe storm or two is possible as well. Maximum temperatures on Tuesday will cool several degrees as clouds increase by afternoon through most locations.
