《古今圖書集成》由清?陳夢雷編撰，蔣廷錫校訂，初版以銅活字版印成64部，原只存於宮廷內閣，一般學人難以一窺堂奧，民國23年中華書局重將母版影印出版，才在民間流傳。它全面收錄我國從上古時代到明末清初的文獻，舉凡天文地理、人倫規範、文史哲學、自然藝術、經濟政治、教育科舉、農桑漁牧、醫藥偏方……，無所不包，圖文並茂，被中外譽為「大清百科全書」，篇幅為《大英百科全書》的四倍，既是我國現存最大型、最重要的類書，也是全世界最大的百科全書。
