A southwest wind flow aloft will persist across the state into Friday, with a limited supply of monsoon moisture continuing to spread north into Colorado. A series of weak upper level disturbances moving through this flow, will combine with the increase in moisture to bring occasional cloudiness, along with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the region. The best chances for precipitation across the region will come on Friday, as a slightly stronger disturbance moves across the state. This will bring a better chance for locally heavy rain and flash flooding on area burn scars. Area temperatures will remain slightly above average over most locations today, but should then cool back to near or slightly below normal through the upcoming weekend. Highs today will top out in the 80s to mid 90s across the eastern plains and 60s and 70s across the high country. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
