Monsoon moisture returns to the area today and tonight. Showers will increase with thunderstorms developing later this morning, increasing in strength and coverage this afternoon and evening. The heaviest rainfall is expected over eastern Utah and extreme western Colorado. Rainfall amounts from some of these storms will likely exceed an inch which could lead to localized flash flooding, rock slides, and debris flows. Showers and thunderstorms will redevelop each day through this weekend which will keep temperatures a bit cooler than normal.   (Please visit http://weather.gov/gjt for more information.)
