Monsoon moisture will continue to spread into the eastern half of the state this evening, and gradually increase into the upcoming weekend. An active period of weather will return to the region for the first half of next week. This will bring isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms to the mountain areas into Saturday, with more widespread shower and thunderstorm activity, along with a greater potential for heavy rain, on Sunday. Area temperatures will remain above average today, with highs warming into the 90s to around 100 across the southeast plains, with 80s expected over the high country.
