Killing of stray dogs is illegal. Băncescu has brutally killed stray dogs; he has punched and kicked an animal lover so that she needed medical attention. This man is a public danger said Gabriel Paun, Director of Campaigns at FOUR PAWS. “Such behaviour does not portray the public authorities positively. ASPA’s activities are paid for using public money and it is a scandal that the police and the Mayor of Bucharest support violence and breaking of the law in this way. FOUR PAWS cannot tolerate this, so we are taking legal steps.” FOUR PAWS is appealing to Romania’s officials Following the decision of the Appeal Court of Bucharest, the legal framework for the killing of stray dogs was suspended.
