Warmer weather will return to eastern Colorado today, as a ridge of high pressure aloft builds over the state. A limited supply of moisture will remain in place over the area, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms developing once again this afternoon and evening. The best chances for precipitation will be over the high country, though a few storms could become quite strong and possibly severe over Colorado later today near the Kansas border. Locally heavy rain will be possible once again with the stronger storms, so persons located near recent burn scars should remain weather alert. Area temperatures will return to slightly above average over most locations this afternoon, with highs topping out in the upper 80s to mid 90s across the eastern plains and 70s and 80s across the high country.
