A drier airmass will begin to filter into the state over the next couple of days, with diminishing chances for precipitation expected across the region. Enough moisture will remain in place over eastern Colorado today for isolated showers and thunderstorms over the central mountains, Pikes Peak region and far eastern plains, with some of these storms over the plains becoming quite strong and possibly severe once again this afternoon. Mostly sunny and dry weather was expected elsewhere across the region. Area temperatures will return to above average over most locations today, as highs top out in the upper 80s and 90s across the eastern plains and 70s to mid 80s over the high country.
