A period of unsettled weather will spread back across the state over the next few days, with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected Sunday afternoon and evening across eastern Colorado. The best chances for precipitation will be over the eastern plains, where some of these storms could become quite strong and possibly severe. Locally heavy rain will also be possible with the stronger storms, so persons living or planning outdoor activities in or near the burn scar drainage basins should remain weather alert on Sunday. Area temperatures will be slightly cooler over most locations on Sunday, with highs topping out in the 80s to low 90s across the eastern plains and 60s to around 80 over the high country.
