A dry and slightly cooler airmass will briefly spread across the state today, as a weak ridge of high pressure moves through eastern Colorado. Gusty winds will develop over the mountains and parts of the far southeast plains by this afternoon. Area temperatures will fall back to around average this afternoon, as highs warm into mid 70s to mid 80s across the eastern plains and 60s and 70s over the high country.
