Family places cross to memoralize the death of their loved one. On Tuesday, June 3, 2014, 63 year old Robert Q. Godfrey was walking his bicycle across a Norfolk Southern railway crossing in Chesapeake when Godfrey was struck by an Amtrak Train. Godfrey was announced dead Wednesday morning at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. On Sunday Afternoon, at a time when most Church's are letting out, Godfrey's family members returned to the scene of the accident and placed a white cross and flowers to memorialize their loved one. 56 year old Martin Wilson said he had known Godfrey for many years and he had just spoken to Godfrey on Monday June 2, 2014.
