Today's outlook for the start of June is for a hot and dry day in most areas...with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far eastern plains this afternoon.  Temperatures are expected to reach the 60s and 70s in the mountains...the 70s to lower 80s in the southern valleys...with highs soaring to the 80s and mid 90s on the eastern plains. A weak surge of cooler air will invade the state Monday though...dropping temperatures a few degrees on the eastern plains.    (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
