An upper level storm system will continue to move slowly across the desert southwest through Memorial Day. This will bring an extended period of active weather to much of eastern Colorado through the holiday weekend, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms expected each day. Heavy rain will remain possible with the stronger thunderstorms, increasing the flash flood threat over the burn scars. Persons planning activities in the vicinity of the burn scars should remain weather alert and be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary. Snow will be possible across the higher elevations above 10000 feet, with some light snow accumulations possible. Area temperatures will warm into the 70s across the eastern plains on Saturday, with 50s and 60s expected over the high country. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
