The purpose of killing dogs was to sell the meat as fake beef or goat to food vendors, who would then sell it to unsuspecting customers. The people said it was easy to sell dog meat to food vendors because the dog meat was very cheap and vendors like buying cheap meat, to make better profits, according to UUN. In Tanzania, meat eaters need to be wary of eating barbecue meat unless they see the meat ingredients in large pieces ahead of time, to identify the type of meat being cooked.
