A cold front moved through the southeast plains of Colorado overnight. Surface moisture has increased significantly behind the front. This moisture will help initiate thunderstorms across plains this afternoon. Areas along and east of I-25 will have the best chance for thunderstorms. A few of the thunderstorms could be severe with damaging winds and large hail being the primary threats. Warm, dry and gusty winds will continue in the San Luis Valley this afternoon and evening where a Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon to 8 pm.
