A strong spring storm will move through eastern Colorado, spreading areas of rain and snow across the region. The precipitation will likely start off as rain in most areas, but should gradually change over to snow this afternoon and evening as the colder air filters into Colorado from the north. Heavy wet snow will be likely over the mountains and Palmer Divide regions, where significant snow will be possible. Gusty winds may also lead to white out conditions in some of these areas at times, making travel very difficult. Elsewhere across the region, some light accumulations of snow will be possible over the southern I25 Corridor tonight, with the accumulations likely remaining mainly on grassy or elevated surfaces due to the warm ground temperatures. Over the far southeast plains, temperatures will be slower to cool, so little if any accumulations of snow were expected. High temperatures today will likely occur this morning over most areas, with steady or slowly fal! ling temperatures behind a cold front expected through the afternoon hours. Lows tonight will likely fall to below freezing along the interstate 25 corridor, and again across most of the southeast plains Monday night. Precautions should be taken by this evening to protect any sensitive vegetation and any exposed pipes or sprinkler systems.
