"In many cultures, inability to conceive bears a stigma. In closed social groups, a degree of rejection (or a sense of being rejected by the couple) may cause considerable anxiety and disappointment. Some respond by actively avoiding the issue altogether; middle-class men are the most likely to respond in this way.

The emotional losses created by infertility include the denial of motherhood as a rite of passage; the loss of one’s anticipated and imagined life; feeling a loss of control over one’s life; doubting one’s womanhood; changed and sometimes lost friendships; and, for many, the loss of one’s religious environment as a support system.

The most prominent battle in feminism today is the one enabling and empowering women to detach themselves from the labels created by the so-called “traditional” patriarchal cultures, and instead define their life with their choices. An identity should be a person’s own choosing rather than a norm that was only invented to restrict women from living their lives.

There is more to being a real woman than reproducing. While it's great and works for some, it isn't the defining thing is many women's lives. And some, their bodies aren't destined for that, they are destined for other, and often - better things. I guess I can count myself as one of those."

My take? Ah, "History"... Well, you know what society? I am PROUD TO BE THE OUTCAST FREAK WITH THE SOCIETY STIGMA that will STILL LEAVE her mark on this world! Never did really fit into those round holes that most people did anyway; for some reason, I never could be like all the others; and frankly, never wanted to. They all expect you to follow a certain cookie cutter idea of how you should live your life, and which milestones you need to hit by certain ages. If you don't, you are somehow weird, or missing out. But you know what I always say... if the grass looks greener on the other side, it's because it's been fertilized with bullshit. Give me a break. This is 2014. I never did mix into the mediocrity of "the perfect family" life, and that's just fine. I loved being a lone wolf on my own journey. So now I just have another reason to pursue my uniqueness and love it.
