The very windy conditions in place over the region early this morning, will gradually subside across southeast Colorado through early this afternoon, though lighter gusts will still be possible until this evening. This has prompted the issuance of a Red Flag Warning for the southeast Colorado plains, from Kiowa and southern El Paso counties and areas to the south, including Fremont county from 1000 AM until 600 PM. For the latest information...please visit out web page at weather.gov/pub. A cooler airmass will spread into Colorado today on the back side of the departing low pressure system, with highs warming into the low to mid 60s across the eastern plains and 40s and 50s over the high country. Moisture will remain limited across the area today, with the chances for precipitation remaining confined to areas along the Continental Divide, mainly north of Highway 50.
