A low pressure system will push into Colorado today, spreading gusty winds and clouds across the state. Moisture will increase across the high country with this system, with a chance for rain and snow developing. The best chance for snow is expected across the central and southwest mountains, where some light snow accumulations are possible. Dry and very warm air will remain in place over the lower elevations today, leading to a high fire danger across the eastern plains and San Luis Valley late this morning into the evening hours. For the latest on the fire danger, please visit our web page at weather.gov/pub. The low will move over eastern Colorado tonight, dragging a cold front through the region, with noticeably cooler, but still around average temperatures expected across most areas. Today's highs will warm into the 70s across the eastern plains, with 40 to low 60s expected over the high country. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
