An early spring weather system will push across eastern Colorado this afternoon into Sunday morning. This will bring snow to the central and eastern mountains, with heavy snow developing over the Pikes Peak region this afternoon, and spreading south through the afternoon and evening hours. Moderate snow accumulations will be possible over the Pikes Peak and Wet Mountain regions through Sunday morning. A mixture of rain and snow is likely for the eastern plains by tonight, changing over to all snow by late evening, with some light snow accumulations possible by Sunday morning. Due to the warm ground temperatures however, any accumulations that do occur, will likely remain confined to grassy or elevated surfaces over the eastern plains. Area temperatures will remain cool today, with highs topping out in the 40s and 50s across eastern Colorado. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
