A storm system over the Northern Rockies will drop south into Colorado late tonight and Saturday. Expect snow to develop over the Central Mountains late tonight and continue through the day Saturday. Meanwhile a strong cold front will drop south across the Eastern Plains Saturday morning. Very strong winds gusting to near 50 mph will be possible. Blowing dust will cause reduced visibilities and strong cross wind on east-west highways will exist across the Plains Saturday afternoon...extreme caution is advised. Model data indicates a few showers will be possible behind the front over the Palmer Divide and Eastern Mountains. Downslope wind effects should keep most of the Plains dry, however. In addition...temperatures will warm quickly during the morning hours into the 50s before falling behind the cold front during the afternoon.
