Winter weather advisories will continue today for most areas. Snow will become lighter through today but will remain continuous. Another round of snow will spread across the southeast mountains and plains today with a slow clearing from the north expected by late evening. Wintry weather will result in slick and snow packed roads through the next 24 to 48 hours, especially over the high country where avalanche danger will remain high. Sunday will be a sunny break as the region will be poised between two separate weather systems. The next system will begin to move into the area by late Sunday night / early Monday morning and persist through Tuesday. A wintery week is ahead so be prepared for icy roads and slow travel.
