After a very cold start to the week, high temperatures will be up to 30 degrees warmer across the area on Wednesday. Clouds will increase over the mountains through the day with snow developing over the higher terrain north of Monarch Pass during the afternoon. It will remain dry elsewhere across the area, under partly to mostly sunny skies. A powerful winter storm system will move into the Colorado Rockies Wednesday night, impacting much of the region for Thursday and Friday. (Please visit http://weather.gov/pub for more information.)
