An approaching cold front will bring rain and isolated thunderstorms to the region throughout the day and into the overnight hours. Winds will be the main concern during this system, as they are expected to increase throughout the day ahead of the approaching front, and then reach their maximum right before/as the front is passing over. As the main line pushes through later today/this evening, some embedded severe-strength wind gusts will be possible along the leading edge, despite a lack of thunderstorm activity. An isolated spin-up tornado cannot be ruled out either, mainly north of I-64. Skies will clear out fairly quickly overnight, and winds will begin to die down, with lows dropping into the mid-40s. Pleasant weather is in store for Monday. (Please visit http://weather.gov/jkl for more information.)
