The collision occurred on the highway between the towns of Saint -Laurent- d'Aigouze and Aimargues . A DRIVER HAS NOT SEEN THE HORSES crossing In the night already , firefighters intervened twice to park horses that had escaped from their pens along the highway in the municipality of Saint -Laurent- d'Aigouze . And that's when the owners , including Patrice Dumontel , came to retrieve them back to their original pens that the accident took place. While they were crossing the highway with three horses held by the bridle, a driver traveling at a brisk pace did not care that the cars had stopped to let the herd , and it is not managed to stop. SHIP TO CHU The shock was violent and if the driver is unharmed, he was just in shock at the arrival of aid. However, a horse crashed headlong died while his owner , Patrice Dumoncel , who accompanied him to cross the floor, was also hit . It is in a very serious state even if his prognosis is not engaged . Supported by the rescue, he was taken to the emergency room of the hospital center of Nîmes . An investigation is currently underway, conducted by gendarmerie Vauvert , under the direction of Captain Celdran .
