We start with a look at the weekend racing with some great National Hunt action and the Breeders’ Cup.
How good is the Breeders’ Cup? A total of 121 different Group race winners including 71 Group 1 winners will race over the two-day meeting on Friday and Saturday.
It’s like the Ryder Cup of Horse Racing. A total of 35 horses who have won a million dollars including 10 with over $2m, seven with over $3m, two with over $4m and two (Game On Dude and Wise Dan) with over $5m so it’s the best of the best folks.
There is a strong European raiding party including The Fugue, Declaration of War, Olympic Glory, Dank and a powerful posse of juveniles.
Irish Champion Stakes winner The Fugue looks the stand-out European choice in the Breeders’ Cup Turf on Saturday night.
Friday Night Breeders Cup Lucky 15
Let’s get stuck into Friday night’s action and the Breeders' Cup Marathon kicks us off and WORDLY could be the answer in this stamina test and is a 6/1 shot, while OUTBACK (4/1) could strike for Europe in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
Goldencents (7/2) has been well-backed all week and will take some stopping in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile while Princess Of Sylmar (3/1) can strike in the Breeders' Cup Distaff to make up a first night Lucky 15 for the PG.
atUrday Breeders Cup Lucky 15
DANK (2/1) can give Europe the perfect start on Saturday night in the Breeders’ Cup Filly while Shes A Tiger (9/2) can strike in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Mizdirection (5/2) will take some catching in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint and Bond Holder (4/1) makes up the early evening Lucky 15 in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile.
BIG RACE Breeders Cup TRIXIE
We finish with a late night big-race Trixie and hope that the FAST BULLET (11/4) lives up to his name in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and our European nap THE FUGUE (5/2) can lead home the Breeders’ Cup Turf field.
The Breeders’ Cup Classic looks a cracking race but GAME ON DUDE (3/1) looks the one to be on and has attracted midweek money and looks the one to beat.
WEEKEND RACING
We have some cracking weekend racing closer to home at Down Royal and the PG will be in attendance for the two-day meeting and we have high hopes for the classy SIZING EUROPE in the JWN Chase on Saturday while Champion Hurdle hope JEZKI runs in the WKD Hurdle on Friday.
The Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby on Saturday and the return of LONG RUN and he looks the one to beat with the progressive Cape Tribulation a each-way bet.
At Fishers Cross could be anything after a cracking season last year and starts this campaign in the West Yorkshire Hurdle and faces the likes of Dynaste and Tidal Bay on Saturday.
