Update: Root rot coupled with strong winds caused a tree to fall onto telephone & cable lines in La Mirada today. Incident occurred at approximately 10:50 AM at the intersection of Imperial Hwy and La Mirada. Deputies with LASD’s Norwalk Station reported at least 3 poles down and promptly closed the intersection to vehicular traffic. Motorist were forced to use shopping center parking lots as makeshift arterial roadways. No injuries were reported but at least two vehicles sustained damage from falling telephone poles and wires. A Red Warning for strong winds and low humidity for the La Habra Heights area is expected to remain in effect until 6 PM Sunday. EOM
